ACCT 4420 Advanced Financial Accounting
Addresses advanced accounting topics that fall into four general categories of specialized and complex aspects of accounting and financial reporting: accounting for intercorporate transactions and in particular, mergers and acquisitions; translation and remeasurement of foreign currency subsidiary statements; accounting for derivative instruments; and accounting for governmental and not-for-profit entities. Understanding of these topics is critical for preparers and users as they can materially affect practically every financial statement line item. Prerequisites: ACCT 3311 and ACCT 3312. Restricted to Cox majors.
